Trekking to observe the Andean condor, which is the world’s largest bird, in a magical and spectacular place. We will be able to see the majestic Condor flying in its natural habitat and enjoy a beautiful view of the Andes that includes the Tupungato volcano of 6,570 meters.
The Andean Condor with a wingspan of more than 3 meters and a weight of 12 kg. It is one of the most amazing birds of the animal kingdom and has been worshipped for thousands of years by indigenous people. Among their qualities there is their great ability to fly effortlessly taking advantage of the thermal and orographic currents reaching above 7,000 m.s.n.m. height.
The Andean condor is the national bird of Chile and because of the fast reduction of its population there have been made several conservation programs in the various Andean countries. These include the Bio Andean Foundation of Argentina and Chile, and the Andean Condor Project which have made great achievements.
The walk is done by hills from one side to the Maipo Valley, less than 60 kms. from Santiago. An excellent walk for people who enjoy life outdoors and good taste. Suitable for people over 12 years old with normal physical conditions.
